We are delighted to welcome back our dear friend Ellen for another guest post. Ellen and her mom are absolute whizzes at re-purposing. Thanks for sharing your clever ideas with us, Ellen!
– Abbie and Mrs. Brown
As you may remember from our last guest post, we enjoy taking old things and giving them new life. My mom had an old pair of sweat pants that had holes in the knees. As she was messing around with her scissors and the pants, she discovered that the ankle makes a great doll skirt!
So if you have a pair of old sweat pants here’s how to make your doll a skirt:
Supplies
- Old sweat pants
- Scissors
- Trim (optional)
- Needle and thread to sew on the optional trim
Directions
First, lay the leg of your sweat pants with the ankle elastic at the doll’s waist.
Next, cut the leg so that your doll’s skirt is the length she likes.
That’s all there is to it! You can, of course, trim the bottom edge with pompoms, rick rack, ribbon, or anything you want!
Now send your doll out for a little jog! 🙂
very clever, simple, and satisfying!
