Texas Sized Cowboy Cookies
Cowboy Cookies are big-as-your-hand wild-west concoctions full of chewy crispy chocolatey yumminess. These are basically oatmeal chocolate chip cookies with pecans and coconut and a loooooot of butter. Oh yeah! I originally got this cookie recipe out of the newspaper… way back in the days when the internet was not my primary source of news. As a result I can’t properly attribute it. I’ve been making Cowboy Cookies for the last fifteen years or so. They are a big hit with guests (and the pecans make them oh-so-Texan.) Now, I don’t especially advise you to eat a Cowboy Cookie while […] Read more »
Chocolate Acorns
It is still pretty warm here in Texas, but the official start of autumn is just days away. Our minds have been on fall activities, but since we can’t really get that fall feeling outside yet, we decided to bring it inside and make an acorn treat for Build A Menu. What do you think? More appealing than acorn bread? Get the full recipe and tutorial for our Chocolate Acorns at Build A Menu! Read more »
Crispy Peanut Butter Cup Balls

Chocolate Dragonflies
Bugs. When they’re in your house they are a huge nuisance. Unless they are chocolate! We put together these chocolate dragonflies for our friends at Build A Menu. They are actually chocolate covered pretzels! We wanted to create a recipe that does not use hydrogenated-oil-filled candy melts. Our chocolate dragonflies do like to soften when the air is warm, so we serve them straight from the freezer. A fun summer afternoon snack! For the full recipe, check out our Chocolate Dragonflies at Build A Menu! Read more »
Strawberry Chocolate Heart Muffins
Abbie says: “These are simple to make and extreeeemely delicious. They didn’t turn into hearts very well, but other than that everything seemed to go pretty smoothly.” Mrs. Brown says: “When Abbie saw a picture of someone using a marble to make heart shaped cupcakes she knew we had to try it. So we took a strawberry muffin recipe, adapted it a bit, and popped marbles in the muffin tin. As you can see, the muffins rose a bit over and around the marbles, so that the dimple at the top of the heart is not as noticeable. Next time […] Read more »
